Meet Marcelle, Our Lead Florist

Hi everyone! My name is Marcelle Fernée and I’m Mugwump’s lead floral designer based in Jacksonville, FL. I have been working in the floral industry for over 13 years which began at a beloved local family florist, St. Johns Flower Market. I closed out my 5+ years there and moved across the country to Seattle, Washington. I’m now back in my hometown and am excited to bring my knowledge to the event and wedding industry.

Why Floral Design: “I come from a long line of gardeners and farmers so you could say it’s in my blood. I’ve always been drawn to flowers, plants and the natural world.”

Top 3 Flowers: “This is incredibly hard to answer and isn’t fair. I’d say dahlias, all the ranunculi and clematis.”

Favorite item to design: “Definitely large statement pieces. I love using large vessels overflowing with floral and greenery that people don’t recognize. It keeps them visually interested.”
